Andrew and Jena Brown

Andrew has loved UVA since a very young age. His father, grandfather, and a few uncles and cousins are alums. As a child he followed UVA sports and listened to his Dad talk about how great the school was. While he didn’t attend UVA (he went to UMass-Amherst) he has always had a heart for it. Through a series of events, God gave Andrew a greater heart for UVA back in February 2012.
At that time he began to consider and pray about Directing Cru at UVA.

The Browns sensed that God was calling Andrew to accept the role of Staff Director at UVA and when they were offered the position in November 2012, they gladly accepted!

Jena and Andrew worked with Cru in Boston from 2008-2013 and directed ministries on several campuses as part of the Boston Metro Team.

Jena is a gifted actress and singer, a mom of 3 kids, and loves building into the lives of college students. She has a Masters in Musical Theater from The Boston Conservatory.

Nicole Teichman

Nicole joined staff in 2011, as she spent a year overseas in Australia with Cru’s internship program. Upon arriving back to the States, Nicole started serving on the UVA team with her husband Joe. Together they have two sons, Rider and Mathias. She is passionate about mentoring students to help them grow in their relationship with Christ and help them to develop skills in Christian leadership. Nicole loves to learn about new cultures and has traveled to Venezuela, Australia, New Zealand and parts of Asia with Cru. Joe works as the Director of Operations at Portico Church and continues to serve with Cru in an affiliate staff role. Contact Nicole at nicole.teichman@cru.org.

Dagoberto Valladares

Dagoberto and Tara Valladares graduated from the University of Virginia in May 2016. Since
then, Dagoberto has been working with Cru. Tara serves with Cru as affiliate staff, while
pursuing her PhD in Quantitative Psychology at UVA.
Dagoberto began his career with Cru having realized how formative College years are in the
lives and futures of students. He is passionate about introducing students to Christ, walking
alongside them as their relationship with Christ develops, and equipping them to be Christ’s
ambassadors for the rest of their lives.
In his free time, Dagoberto loves playing sports, FIFA, and board games, and enjoying the
company of his community. Contact Dag at dagoberto.valladares@cru.org.

Donnie and Paige Wilson

Donnie grew up in a surrounding county of UVA and attended Piedmont Virginia Community College to receive his associate’s degree.  He was at PVCC when the Cru movement began there and quickly became very involved in its student leadership.

Paige grew up in a local county as well, and had believed that her life’s calling was to work with children. She had come to PVCC to pursue education as a career. However, Paige realized at a winter conference with Cru that God had not simply given her a passion for children, but rather a passion for people and sharing Jesus with them.

Donnie and Paige had met through Cru and were married after Donnie graduated PVCC. They both had decided to pursue the ministry together since they both were passionate about watching others grow in their faith. They were accepted to serve in the Cru ministry immediately prior to their marriage in March of 2018 and are spending the beginning of their marriage serving on the Central VA college campuses with Cru.
